Our Mission

We deliver leading technology from small businesses to the hands of the warfighter by helping these small businesses win funding and rapidly grow and develop to meet customer needs.

Who Are We?

We are a team of Military Veterans and Spouses who support small businesses with exciting new technology ideas by helping them find and capture contracts through the SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) Program.

What is SBIR?

The Department of Defense uses the SBIR program to pay commercial companies to conduct customer discovery and bring their product to the warfighter. Currently, the Air Force is most interested in companies with commercial sales or venture capital backing for their program.

Why SBIR?

SBIR awards are the gateway to additional funding opportunities and something known as “sole-source contracts”- a BIG deal when working with the federal government. Within months our clients are pursuing multi-million dollar awards.

Russ Long

Founder/CEO

Russ brings $2 billion in acquisition and leadership experience. During his service, he led teams of buyers that purchased services, commodities, construction, and research and development contracts. His insight into how the government develops, solicits, and selects contract winners is the key to your success.

Russ holds a Masters of Science in Entrepreneurship from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Management from the United States Air Force Academy.

Julia McNear

Chief of Staff

Julia brings over 5 years of experience in organizational development across both the public and private sector to the LCCM team. She works to improve our efficiency by developing improved workflows and systems, empowers our team to do great work by putting the right tools in their hands through vendor research and management, and keeps our records organized and our administrative priorities on track.

Julia holds a Masters of Public Administration with concentrations in Non-Profit Management and Economic and Community Development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Meredith College.

Noelle Tuss

Director, Government Contracts

Noelle Ray graduated from the Air Force Academy in May 2015 and commissioned as a Nuclear Missile Operator. After her Air Force career, Noelle has pivoted from Nuclear Missile Operations to Contracting. Her career highlights include working as the Contract Administrative Lead on a multi-billion dollar DoD contract in Las Vegas, Nevada. She prides herself on her go-getter mentality and optimistic outlook.

Taylor McCaig

Director, Marketing

Taylor came to Long Capture in 2020 from a background in the nonprofit sector. She brought with her experience in multi-touch marketing campaigns, fundraising, design, and digital advertising. Taylor lives in Oklahoma with her husband of 10 years and 5 year old daughter.

Sara Frink

Administrative Officer

Sara graduated from Colorado State University in 2015 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Upon graduation, she decided to go a different route from her major and followed her passion of working in administration. As an Administrative Officer at Long Capture she works on the back end of things to ensure that the company runs smoothly and all accounting/finance, human resources, and administrative tasks are taken care of. Sara is a proud US Air Force Spouse.

Fun Fact: She grew up down the road from the Air Force Academy and spent many weekends exploring the numerous hiking trails located on its prestigious grounds.
