So, you are interested in learning about what it is like to be a Capture Strategist at Long Capture? You’ve come to the right place. Thankfully, there are many great things that come with becoming a Capture Strategist at Long Capture. You get to assist others along their path of achieving goals, you can engage with emerging technologies, and you get to work from the comfort of your own home just to name a few. If you got a second, I would be happy to walk you through the pros and cons of the job and provide you with a glimpse into my world.
Working with Long Capture allows me the privilege to work with some amazing small businesses from all over the US. Their tech varies widely, including things like paving optical fiber on a runway, to launching satellites into space. It is an absolute privilege to be able to work with such special companies. They have put their trust in Long Capture to provide them with the best strategy to grow their business by working with the US Government. I manage an average of 10 clients a week and help develop a strategy for them. At the end of the day, I get to clearly see the fruits of my labor. We truly helped out another US business and made an impact because we are ultimately helping the American Warfighters get the technology they need to execute their missions.
This may seem stressful, but the great team at Long Capture makes sure we are all set up for success with our great internal training program and atmosphere of collaboration. So, how do we help these clients achieve their goals? Through teleconferences.
We get to know our client’s goals and tech all virtually. Once we have a clear understanding, we develop their living/ever-changing strategy document. This will contain what projects they should go after, what entities in the government and DoD make the most sense for them, and where they want to be in the next 6 months/year.
Next, we begin executing the client’s strategy document. This involves actively searching for opportunities throughout the government. Once a project is identified, we develop a proposal to submit for the project. With the help of the team, we create, review, and assist in submitting our client’s proposal. This is the first step for a client to get their foot in the door with the government. Once they have won, we move forward to assisting with the execution of their contract and strategizing for the next opportunity!
Getting to work with the Long Capture team is an amazing experience. It starts at the top with our CEO, Russ Long. He is very welcoming and the most encouraging boss I have ever had. These values have spread throughout the company and I am honored to be included in this great team! Everyone brings their own experiences and background which makes us such a diverse, well-rounded group.
In closing, let’s discuss an important factor in working for Long Capture. That is remote work. Working from home is a huge benefit of joining the Long Capture team, but it does have its disadvantages as well. Often times, it can be hard to step away from your computer when you know there is work to be done. However, I think that this con is easily trumped by the benefits of working from home. There are no stressors of rush hour traffic, or waking up late and having to rush out the door. Remote work is extremely flexible and adaptable to your daily life. When issues arise, you can take care of them, and then return back to work. This has allowed me the freedom and flexibility to truly develop and manage my own schedule. It has been such a blessing to be able to incorporate my personal and family life into my work schedule; instead of having to balance everything around a 9 to 5 job. I am now able to enjoy a cup of coffee on my own couch while going through emails or on a walk with my dog; not chugging it while rushing to a conference room.
Well, If you think you would be a great fit for this position too, then come and join us! The team is currently accepting applications for open positions. Hope to meet you soon.
